"Ka" means "a Flower". "Yu Gen" means......hummm it is little complicated to explain. I use "Yu Gen" as a concept for Butoh Medea. But every time I try to explain about this word, I have a challenging time. "Yu Gen" means can be "quiet & elegant" or "subtle profound beauty" Usually people describe "Noh theatre is Yu Gen world. For me, the world of Yu-Gen is a dream like world or mysterious or alternative world that a spirit can exist. It is not this world or that world. Between of this and that. (i hope this make sense to you....) The world of Yu Gen contains spirits including a spirit of Medea. and a spirit/ Medea starts telling a story-- without Yu Gen world, that would not happen.
So, Ka Yu Gen --- which is the title of this blog--- which is made up word from me,,,, means- A flower of Yu Gen, or A flower existing in Yu Gen.
